Make your lunch sustainable. Get tiffins from To-Go-Ware, recycled cloth carriers and bamboo utensil sets. What’s a tiffin? It’s a lunch or any light meal. The word originated from British dominated India and comes from an obsolete English slang term, tiffing, meaning to take a little drink or a sip. Tiffin can refer to either a snack or a packed lunch. To-Go-Ware calls their stainless steel 2-part cylindrical containers Tiffins; a smaller version is called a Snack Stack.

In India the tiffins are picked up from the lunchmakers and distributed later in the day to the farmers or laborers who bring them back home. It’s a complicated lunch distribution system, quite often done by bicycle.
Because there’s no tiffin distributor in Portland, Carol Grimes takes her own tiffin to a food cart to pick up lunch because she feels there’s a lot of waste from disposable plastic and paper food cart containers. She says people compliment her on her tiffin and want to know where she got it. Stop in our store and get a 10% discount on any To-Go-Ware sustainable lunch product. Just let us know you visited our website.

We just got new, large and medium rectangular 100% recycled dog beds in from Eugene, Oregon, made by St. Vincent de Paul. Large - $60. Medium – $40.
Also, arrived from Eugene — large as well as deluxe clothes drying racks. Extremely sturdy, handmade out of Oregon Douglas-fir. These drying racks will last longer than you do!

Last, but not least! we have discounted our vintage bakeware 20%. All glass — glass lids, too! Twelve cup, five cup and two cup sizes. If you’re tired of plastic touching your food, these are for you! Or if you’re just tired of plastic in general. I’m tired of plastic; I hate plastic and it’s everywhere! At least the plastic bag has been banned in Portland. Maybe we could be really on the cutting edge and ban everything plastic in Portland.

Wool dryer balls save money, energy and time by cutting machine drying time. The balls circulate and separate clothing while getting warm, dry air down to the core of the laundry load. When you use four balls in your dryer, you can cut an average of 25% off large load drying time and about 30-40% off small loads. While wool dryer balls speed up drying time, they also help soften clothes by the gentle friction of the felted wool fibers against clothing fibers. The more wool drying balls used the shorter your drying time will be. Our dryer balls are handmade of repurposed wool yarn in St. Helens, Oregon. We only have 3 sets left so stop in soon to purchase these natural energy savers. $26.00/set
Ty shower curtains. Made of 100% high-density polyethylene(HDPE), a non-toxic plastic which is easily recycled. Does not off-gas like shower curtains made of vinyl (pvc). Ty breathes – making it less likely to grow mold and mildew. It can be machine washed in cold water with a mild detergent. Washing will create a soft linen-like texture. Ty is locally made on Bainbridge Island in Washington. Ty is stronger than vinyl; it will last a very long time and then it can be recycled.
